A New Project
I started a new project as part of a new class that I am taking. It's a beginning applique' class taught by Shelley Stallard at my favorite shop, Delphine's Quilt Shop here in Gaylord. The first class was this past Wednesday afternoon and I learned so much! Most of my previous applique' work was self-taught and I was often unhappy with either the method or the result. I am determined to learn needle-turn applique' and I think that I am on the road to succeeding!! Just for fun (and because I love Smilebox), here are some photos from my first class:

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And I love your bright fabrics!
ReplyDeleteoh, that was great. Loved seeing all the quilts and your fabrics are great. Have fun.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing.
Judy, your doing a wonderful job and I love your bright fabrics. I have this book and the DVD to go along with it. It did help me to rewatch it a couple of times.
ReplyDeleteHello Judy from Michigan your applique is very nice I don't think you will have a problem at all making the quilts you want.
ReplyDeleteIs Delphine's on the North side of Main Street and do you enter it from a hallway? My parents were both from Gaylord and I am a native Michigander. I drove from Texas to Gaylord about 3-4 years ago. I have an aunt that lives on the corner of Wisconsin and Ohio.
I'm mad about applique and it was a real treat to see your smilebox. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed watching your smilebox show! Your applique is wonderful! I haven't tried needleturn applique yet, mostly just fuse and machine blanket stitch.
