First block - I found a better "water" fabric - notice the rick rack? |
Partial blocks - I'm using paper piecing to get the sails just right |
Idea came from this quilt found on Pinterest
I need to find some bright red/white/blue plaids - anyone know where to find some?? My LQS and JoAnn's don't seem to have any - always a great idea with an out of season/style fabric! I shall continue to search...
Hope you are having a good sewing week and enjoying the change of seasons. The maples up here are turning but still about 2-3 weeks until peak color. Linking up with Judy and her DWM...
Happy Stitching,
Judy

Love the ric rac addition to an already cute block. :)
ReplyDeleteI love nautical themed quilts especially sailboats. Have you tried looking online for reds, and blues. Some online shops carry assorted fat quarters.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Sorry for being late to the party - too much sick stuff going on... and I specially had looked for some additions for your quilt. Well, the mail will have to do...
ReplyDeletewhat a cute sailboat quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw "Judy in Michigan" on Pat K.'s blog comment list (Isn't she great?) I had to check and see if you might say where in Michigan! I spend much of the summer and sometimes some fall (just got back Monday) in Gaylord on Otsego Lake, and while I don't quilt, I've been in your shop more than once, usually buying things like buttons! We may be up this weekend and I'll have to check in again.
ReplyDeleteI often post about my up-north time in my Postcards from the Lake series on The Marmelade Gypsy.Stop by if you have a chance! (And I adore this quilt. If I was a quilter, this is one I'd love to make!)
